More of my mama's sayings.
1. "Pain in the neck." Just like common usage. Used to refer to an irritant or a frustration.
2. "Blessings on thee, little man with hair of gold and cheeks of tan." This is a misquote of a poem by John Greenleaf Whittier that actually says, "Blessings on thee, little man/ Barefoot boy, with cheek of tan!" This was said when we did something right or good.
3. "Neck of the woods." Just like common usage. It was usually said to someone else about his/her "neck of the woods."
Quirks and all, it was good fun!
