Three focus standards.

During the DVD last night, we were asked to choose three standards from the pamphlet "Especially For Youth" that we wanted to focus on. The first one that leaped out at me and which has been on my mind lately is honesty.

"Be honest with yourself, others and the Lord. When you are honest in every way, you build strength of character . * * * You will be blessed with peace of mind and self-respect. * * * Dishonesty hurts you and usually hurts others as well. * * * Being honest requires courage and commitment to do what you know is right."

The second standard that attracted my attention was gratitude. "Live with a spirit of thanksgiving and you will have greater happiness and satisfaction in life."

The third standard that attracted my attention was "go forward with faith." "[A]sk yourself, 'Am I living the way the Lord wants me to live?' * * * Be true to the Lord . . . in all circumstances. * * * Be humble and willing to listen to the whisperings of the Spirit."
