Edna-isms, Part Nineteen

1.  "When you have nothing to do and can't sleep . . . ."  When Mom was going to ask you to do something but knew you were busy, she might say this as a preface to her request.

2.  "Run off and join the circus."  This was said as a joke when she felt frustrated and wanted to run away from something.

3.  "Go golly west."  This meant something like, "Knock yourself out."
