As the school year has wrapped up and summer has begun, I have been on the go. In fact, I feel I have been in nearly constant motion for several weeks now. Here are just a few things that have been happening. On May 25th, I was responsible for a recognition evening which has already been discussed in a previous post.
The next day, there was a court of honor where J (young man with the sash) received some merit badges.
Around that same time, L received an award at the end of school.
I organized a personal progress retreat for the Mia Maids--you see them above hard at work on personal progress. Their leader challenged them to finish their personal progress with her or before her. So these young ladies were trying to close the gap. They accomplished a lot on their personal progress and I hope they will all finish by August when their leader finishes.
This past week has been girls' camp and the stake really organized a great camp. There was so much to do. I particularly enjoyed the two speakers. The weather was perfect. I do not think we could have asked for better.
It just occurred to me that of the twenty people pictured here, twelve are descendants or married to descendants of the two Gubler brothers who settled this Tri-city.
L had her first swim meet on Saturday morning. It was a very blustery morning and cold for everyone, particularly people in wet swim suits.
Now that I am home from camp, I need to turn my attention to many other things, one of which is youth conference in two weeks. I have a feeling that summer will be over before I know it.
