At my friend Sheila's funeral, someone mentioned that Sheila had gone to lunch every year with a group of ladies who were also born in Sheila's birth month. So I approached GCH, whose birthday is the day after mine, and proposed that we get a few gals together and "do lunch" in honor of our birthdays. G loved the idea. So she invited two friends and I invited two friends. We all know one another and all of us have spring birthdays. We met for lunch at Ted & Allen's in one of the Tri-cities. We had a great time.
At Sheila's funeral, the thought stood out to me that life is short and I should enjoy and be mindful of and engaged with the people around me while they're around. So, here's to Sheila and her fun idea!
