The gingham dog and the calico cat
Side by side on the table sat;
T'was half past twelve, and (what do you think!)
Not one nor t'other had slept a wink!
Actually, our cat and dog get along famously, and aren't likely to tear each other apart like the gingham dog and the calico cat of the nursery rhyme, but this picture made me think of that rhyme. It is interesting how very nearly the same color R & S are.
