Desert beauty

This was a cactus flower by our hotel in southern Arizona. There was a time when, if someone had said the desert was beautiful, I would have answered about like J did the other day on our trip, "It's boring. There's nothing there." However, as I've matured, I've come to appreciate the desert's beauty. When I was in Germany and would tell people I lived in the desert, they would ask, "Which is more beautiful, Germany or the desert?" I would have to answer, "Germany and the desert are both beautiful but each is beautiful in its own way."
