Reminds me of home

February's violets remind me of my parents and of my childhood home probably more than any other thing. These violets grow in the lawn of my parents' house. (I think if the plants were not mowed along with mowing the lawn, they would be a bit taller.) Some lawn purists would think the violets need to go, a lot like the reaction of lawn purists to dandelions, another lawn "flower." However, the violets were always welcomed and nurtured by my parents and were likely planted by my grandmother. However, as of recent years, the former lawn company used "weed and seed" lawn treatments to kill the weeds in the lawn and, as a result, had just about eradicated the violets in the process. I'm hoping these February violets can now make a comeback.
