| Edna captured in newspaper photo with Pres. Ronald Reagan. |
1. "Lost my zizz-wheel." Well, I looked this up online and I should probably leave this out of the Edna-isms line-up. I won't even mention what zizz-wheel really means. HOWEVER, Mom meant her brain or her mind. She might say, "If I should ever lose my zizz-wheel . . . " which, unfortunately, she really did do eventually.
2. "What you don't know won't hurt you." This was usually said about someone who wasn't present and about something that absent person was not likely to discover. Let's say we were somewhere and were given a plate of cookies, which we promptly ate before sharing with someone at home. This is total fiction but then regarding the person who missed out on the cookies, Mom might say, "What she doesn't know won't hurt her."
3, "To make a long story short." If I had a nickel for every time I have heard this phrase from my mother's lips, I would be a rich, rich woman.

Hahaha! Well, of course I had to look up "zizz-wheel."
This is soooo awesome that your mother saw Pres. Regan. That was one of the highlights of my life, was to see him speak in person.
