For YW, thanks to the Mia Maids for planning and inviting us, we did a self-guided walking tour of St. G. It was very interesting--I like that kind of stuff anyway. We were also lucky enough to happen along just as the last tour of the day was starting at the BY home. (Here we are in front of the BY home, after our tour of that home.) I loved the "feel" of the home, particularly the main floor with its high ceilings.
Now it makes me want to see the rest of the town on some kind of walking tour since our tour route was only a fraction of the old buildings/houses in town. At some point in the year, they have actors posing as old time St. G residents during some kind of walking tour. I have wanted to do that for years, too. See, I do not even have to leave the county to see and learn new things. :o)
Before we could leave town Tuesday night, I had to take these young ladies past the historic H. G. home. It was not on our tour route, but ALL of us in this picture, except one leader, descend from him. It was a must to round out the evening. :o)
