Yesterday (July 30th) at 8:50 p.m., one of my very favorite people passed away--my Aunt Genevieve. She has been a good example and a good friend to me. All those years with Mom here but not herself, I relied on Aunt Genevieve kind of like a mom.
Her life has been fruitful and long. I hope I will do as well with the next 46 years of my life as she's done. She's had such suffering for years that I would not insist that she stay here longer but I will miss her very much. After 97 years, I am sure there are as many people to greet her in the Hereafter as there are those of us who will miss her here.

Genevieve was always so kind to me, no matter what pain she was going through herself all she ever wanted to know was how I was doing. I would always try to turn the conversation back to her, all the same she made a big impression on me. I felt like she was a wonderful example of my interpretation of enduring to the end -- cheerfully faithful to the end. I loved her smile.
Genevieve, I will miss you. I hope your reunion with Horatio and all of your family is very sweet!
Patty, I know Genevieve will be pain free and smiling now up there with Horatio and the rest of her family and your mom. I loved her flowers that she shared with me each spring, her smile was infectious and made me smile just to see it. How we all love the Gubler family. Rock solid examples of all God's goodness here on earth. May you be blessed in the coming days. Our prayers are with you all.
So sorry to hear about your Aunt Genevieve, especially since it is so very soon after your mother passing. A tough year for your family! Sad to see that generation leaving us. My deepest sympathy--
When I saw this obituary in the paper, I immediately thought of you and wondered if she might be an Aunt of yours. Like Elaine, I also agree, it is sad to see this generation leave us, and my heart goes out to you and your family during this hard time. It is wonderful to know that even though we will miss our loved ones, we can see them again.
May you all be blest with comfort and strength during this time.
(hugs),
Elaine C. Stephens
Loved her smile, although I hadn't seen her for years, she still looks the same and has the happy twinkle in her eyes. RIP Aunt Genevieve!
